Barça Ready for Inaugural Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
